The Alluring Wildlife
The artwork is composed of 13 pieces, each depicting a different animal or group of animals in their natural habitat. The size of the paper per piece is 3.8 feet x 7.8 feet without a frame. The whole size of the completed work of 13 pieces is 7.8 feet x 47 feet without frame.
Zammin’s medium of work for this particular project was Fabriano 300 GSM paper, Ko-Hi-Noor pencil and charcoal, and Carandache pencil (a Switzerland product), which makes his work even more impressive and admirable. He used a variety of pencils, ranging from 2H to 8B, depending on the tone and texture he wants to create. He also uses blending tools, erasers, and sharpeners to refine his work.
The time taken to complete the whole art piece is 3500 to 4500 hours approximately, which is more than 2 years of working. He started The Alluring Wildlife in March 2021 and completed it in May 2023, during the civil war that broke out in his hometown in Manipur.
Zamminlun witnessed the civil war in Manipur firsthand, which shaped his perspective and motivated his art. He saw the horrors of violence, the suffering of innocent people, and the destruction of his homeland. He also saw the resilience, the courage, and the hope of his people. He wanted to express his emotions and thoughts through his art, and to create a positive impact on the world, even if it’s a small one. He chose to draw wildlife as a symbol of peace, harmony, and diversity. He believes that his art can speak louder than words, and that it can inspire people to appreciate and protect the wildlife and their environment.
Objective-
Zamminlun has several objectives for his project, which are:
- To exhibit his artwork in different platforms for wildlife fund.
- To exhibit his artwork in collaboration with any wildlife foundation.
- To sell his artwork and donate some percent to the wildlife fund.
- To look for sponsorship or collaboration with any organization, trust, or foundation for the exhibitions.
He hopes that his artwork can raise awareness and appreciation for the wildlife and their conservation and also hopes that his artwork can inspire and touch people with its realism and beauty.
The Root Of Peace
Zamminlun is also currently working on a 40 square feet peice of called The Root Of Peace. Medium for the painting is, as always, pencil on paper.
The tools that he’s using to make the art work are Carandache pencil and Stratemore bristol smooth paper of 300 GSM. With this piece Zammin wants to promote world peace through his artwork. He wants to create artworks that reflect the victims of natural and man-made disasters of the world, such as earthquakes, floods, wars, famines, and pandemics. He wants to show the pain and suffering of these victims, but also their strength and hope. He wants to raise awareness and empathy for these victims, and to inspire people to take action for peace and justice. He wants to use his art as a powerful tool for social change and humanitarian causes. And the artworks will reflect the victims of natural and man made disasters of the world.
The work is in progress as of now…
